As owners of ¾ and one-ton pickups, we were frustrated with both the rapid wear and poor handling characteristics of our 16” light truck tires, not to mention that they looked so small. Also, when we really loaded up the trucks, we felt that our safety was marginal…. at best. As engineers and innovators, we knew there had to be a better mousetrap. All roads pointed to the use of a 19.5” commercial truck tire on our pick-ups. We also knew that we didn’t want to use adapters.
